This year’s production of Peter Pan will be on Saturday, May 19th at The Wright Theatre at Mount Royal University. Performance Division
The Evolutions School of Dance Performance Division is a program designed for the committed and serious dancer with a passion for dance performance. In addition to the regular division classes, students learn more challenging technique and choreography and are exposed to a diverse range of styles and dance disciplines. Students must be registered in weekly ballet class in order to be considered for this class.
Students are invited to audition in October and are evaluated by the ESD faculty to determine which Performance Division class would best suit their talent and ability. Dancers may be invited to join more than one Performance Division class. All decisions made by the faculty are final.
Classes may include:
- Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ukrainian Dance
Performance Division classes will be held on Saturdays during the months of December through May. However, classes will alternate on a rotating schedule. A schedule (Week A and Week B) will be created once auditions have been completed and classes have been created. Dancers may or may not be dancing every Saturday, depending on the schedule.

Competitions and Festivals
In addition to the year-end recital, the ESD Performance Division will participate in a number of different competitions and festivals in and around Calgary and Alberta. All dancers are required to purchase or rent a costume for these performances. A list of these competitions and festivals will be distributed in October. Parents are responsible for incurring all costs associated with participation in competitions and festivals. These include costumes, registration fees, any travel and accommodation required, as well as any additional instructional time.
