Miss Stephanie (BA, BEd., MA 2014)

School Director, Teacher

Miss Stephanie (BA, BEd.) began her study of dance over 24 years ago. She has a knowledge of both classical ballet (Vaganova) and Ukrainian dance technique. She began choreographing and teaching dances at a very young age and at the age of the 15 had received her first award for original choreography. She continues to search for new and innovative ways for children to express themselves through dance.

Miss Stephanie is a teacher at Strathcona Tweedsmuir School and is currently working on her MA in Education.

Miss Vanessa (BA – Fine Arts – Dance)

Artistic Director, Teacher

Miss Vanessa brings with her 17 years of dance experience. She has received extensive training in ballet (RAD, ISTD, Vaganova), lyrical, jazz, contemporary, and Ukrainian dance. Miss Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance (Ballet Major) at the University of Calgary. Her studies include the anatomy, psychology, and history of dance as well as music for dance. Miss Vanessa is working towards her Associates Teaching Exam.

Miss Vanessa has been teaching dance to children of all ages at various dance schools in Calgary for the past 8 years. She has a creative passion for dance as well as for teaching. For the past 2 years, she taught with Three Left Feet Movement Creations as a dance teacher. This year Miss Vanessa will be completing her degree in Education at the University of Calgary.

Miss Natalka (BA – Fine Arts – Dance, AISTD.)

Teacher

Miss Natalka has an extensive knowledge of dance and theatre.  With over 16 years of formal dance training, Miss Natalka is trained in ballet, contemporary, Ukrainian folk dance, jazz, modern, lyrical, musical theatre and tap. She recently completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance (Ballet Major) at the University of Calgary. This past year Miss Natalka also completed the Teacher Training Program at the School of Alberta Ballet and is a certified Cecchetti Ballet teacher, allowing ESD ballet students to participate in qualifying exams. Natalka has performed and choreographed in numerous professional dance shows throughout Alberta and is networked throughout the Alberta dance community.

Miss Natasha

Teacher

Miss Natasha began Ukrainian dancing and ballet at the age of 3. She has completed ballet exams in Primary Ballet to Grade 7 as well as vocational exams Intermediate Foundation to Advanced Foundation of the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D). This is Natasha’s second year instructing at Evolutions and she is very excited for many more years of dancing and teaching with the wonderful staff and students of Evolutions School of Dance.

Miss Kyla (BA – Dance)

Teacher

Miss Kyla was born and raised in British Columbia. Kyla moved to Winnipeg to attend the Senior Professional Program of the School of Contemporary Dancers, where she earned her BA (Hon) through the affiliation with the University of Winnipeg. She has worked professionally as a dancer since her graduation in 2002.
Kyla has had the pleasure of teaching dance to students of all ages, including Creative Dance to three year old’s, up to Professional Company classes, and everything in between. After completing 5 years with NAfro Dance Productions in Winnipeg and acting as the General School Coordinator for the School of Contemporary Dancers, Kyla relocated to
Calgary.
This fall Kyla will begin her busy schedule of performing as a Company member with the Corps Bara Dance Theatre in Calgary, choreographing on the Corps Bara Youth Company as well as the Alberta Dance Theatre, and teaching at several dance schools around the city of Calgary, including Evolutions School of Dance.

 

Miss Jenna

Teacher

Miss Jenna has been dancing since the age of 4. She has a vast knowledge of Ukrainian dance, as well as ballet and lyrical dance.
Miss Jenna has worked closely with children of all ages as a City of Calgary employee for the past 5 years. She has also previously served as an assistant instructor at Evolutions School of Dance. Through these opportunities and experiences she has gained the confidence and expertise to take on many leadership roles within ESD.
Miss Jenna is very excited for the upcoming year as an instructor at Evolutions School of Dance and the many years to come!
